The newsletter’s first issue is out now! I’m also posting it here, in case somebody missed to subscribe
The Sons of Seasons Newsletter
Issue 1

Dear fans and friends of Sons Of Seasons,
Finally we started our newsletter. The past years were more than busy so this was a bit delayed but in the upcoming years we will provide you with fresh & hot informations about the band, plans, releases, concerts and everything else of interest.
We’re sure you heard about it: ‘Gods Of Vermin’, our debut album, is now available in a Regular and Special Edition. You can buy it at our webstore at www.sonsofseasons.com, along with other merchandise. By the way: By ordering from the webstore you support the band directly!
The reviews worldwide are far beyond our expectations. Our music is no fast food for the ears, and sometimes it takes a while to get into the complexity of ‘Gods Of Vermin’. But the journalists all over didn’t disappoint us and the biggest part obviously really listened in detail. A review mirror you’ll find below.
Right at the moment we’re playing our May tour in Germany. Check the website for the dates. From September on Sons Of Seasons will continue hitting the stage, also as support of EPICA. Many more dates are in the making. We’ll keep you informed.
Be sure to join our forum and stay active there. The band members regularly read it and answer. We’re looking forward to get your opinion and personal reviews. If you like ‘Gods Of Vermin’ you can help us by writing your personal review on your national Amazon- store.
Many greetings,
Oliver from Sons Of Seasons

Hey,
Sons Of Seasons has had their first gigs, in Holland & Belgium! Before, honestly said, I didn’t know how the band would work together on stage. Sometimes a certain constellation of people goes fine together but under pressure the pattern fails. So, you might imagine that I was euphoric that the band rocked like a bad- ass metal machine. We immediately received offers afterwards to play at more places and the feedback from the audience was fantastic.
The first reviews are rolling in and so far they’re really good. We will be featured on some of the main metal magazines worldwide - I keep you informed which ones. And, of course, the release of the Regular & Special Edition is not far anymore. For the whole band, that will be Day X!
Greetings,
Oliver

To all early friends & fans a successful and healthy year 2009 from the whole band! It will be an exciting year for Sons Of Seasons for sure. More than to anything else we’re looking forward to meet you out there before or after gigs to listen to your opinion.
The songs from the debut album ‘Gods Of Vermin’ are now in the magic kitchen, in the mixing & mastering studio of Alex Krull in Stuttgart. Alex is working together with the band members to fulfill their vision of the final sound. The results we’ve received so far made us really, really happy! We can further proudly announce that there will be a Special Edition of the CD, complete with a totally different artwork and a long bonus track.
The very first members of the forum might remember that the plans for the release were originally going for end of 2008! Now we can say - almost for sure - that it will be April 2009. In the long and complicated process of the making of an album a lot can happen, also unexpected personal issues, delaying everything. Now we’re finally beyond that and we can’t wait to show you the results.
This week we’re all meeting for rehearsals, to prepare the shows for February in Holland and Belgium. In a short time we also open the merchandise online shop, we overwork the web site from scratch, and we take pre- orders for the album.
Exciting times!
Greetz,
Oliver from Sons Of Seasons

It’s almost done. This is the last week of recording. Some guitar and bass parts have to be finished and the whole band is meeting once again to listen to all tracks. Then we enter the Mastersound Studios in Stuttgart to mix & master.
Further we are about to order all Merchandising - one month later than announced but the whole process was delayed a month in general.
As you can see on the concert page the booking goes well, too. We have a lot more gigs coming up but sometimes it takes a while to get to the point of final confirmation.
Most of all we’re very happy about the active, growing forum and the participation of some members in designing the website and the forum. We’re looking forward to 2009.

My blog entry this time is not easily being made: I am sorry to come up with the news that Luca Princiotta won’t be longer part of Sons Of Seasons. I had a long talk with him in Milano and we both agreed that it would be in the best interest for both sides to make that decision.
Luca is involved in many projects in his home country Italy, some of them are heavily built on his work. So dates clashing in the future couldn’t have been avoided. There is always the alternative of sub- musicians, but it is my intention to play with a stable line- up right from the start. At the beginning of 2007, when I founded Sons Of Seasons and asked Luca to be one of the first musicians involved, his situation was different and he wasn’t involved in so many projects. He has to, since it is so hard to survive as a musician nowadays, and only one band normally can’t carry you. But then the distance Germany (our “home base”, meeting & rehearsal place) - Italy suddenly becomes a big problem, especially regarding the rising prices for flights.
Luca is an outstanding musician and one of my best friends so this decision was a tough one. We will continue with four band members, while I am recording all of the guitars on ‘Gods Of Vermin’.

You read it probably before: Sons Of Seasons’ first gig is confirmed for February 28th, 2009, in Kerkrade, South- Netherlands. We will play a double- headliner concert with our friends from the dutch Symphonic Metal band Xystus. Make sure you don’t miss this event!
I just returned from a 4 weeks tour through the USA with Kamelot. Now it’s almost time to return to Europe and finish the recordings for ‘Gods Of Vermin’. Before I will record an instructional video for keyboards, available Spring 2009.
We are also working on merchandise and posters. Some things might be delayed because we won’t put anything out before we’re not fully happy with the results.
Greetings,
Oliver

We finished the vocal recordings and are very confident about the results. Henning proved that he’s one of the most powerful singers in the metal world and went new ways to expand his personal style. People who know him from other recordings will be surprised, no doubt!
Bass, guitar and keyboard recordings will happen within the upcoming two months. I hope we can get some video material together to show you guys how it works. Problem this time is that the recordings are not happening within a clearly defined period and won’t be finished before the mixing session end of November.
I will be on US tour with Kamelot in October. So, if anybody’s going to one of those gigs I hope you have some time to hang out later - to talk about Sons Of Seasons, music & life in general :).
Greetings,
Oliver

The whole band met last week in Stuttgart/ Germany, to shoot photos for the album and promo material. We work together with a fantastic graphic designer, Stephan Heilemann, and I am convinced he can bring the idea for the cover and the booklet visually to life that I carry around in my head since some time.
Next step, beginning this week, are the vocal recordings in Lüneburg/ Germany, close to Hamburg. Henning is already preparing and I make last corrections on the lyrics. Like during the drum recordings, I will sit all the time behind the mixing desk while Henning is performing his art.
We’re working on the second ‘behind the scenes’ video. Problem is that we’ve recorded this time with two cameras and we struggle to get all the material together. So it might still take a while.
Greetings,
Oliver
